The buying brief

Considered on the car's own terms.

MotorSignet considers selected Porsche models across the GT department, Turbo and special-series lineages, as well as significant air-cooled cars.

The brief spans the Weissach GT cars, from the GT3 and GT3 RS to the rear-wheel-drive GT2 RS and mid-engined 718 Cayman GT4 RS, together with the wingless GT3 Touring and the manual-led 911 R, S/T and Sport Classic. Turbocharged flagships such as the 911 Turbo S sit alongside them.

Among the air-cooled 911s a specialist reviews the lightweight 964 and 993 RS cars and the early 930 Turbo, where matching-numbers originality, documented restoration and honest corrosion history all matter. Factory build specification and options, continuous service records and any accident or paint history are read closely across every generation.

On the GT cars, track use is not a concern in itself; what counts is service intervals, any engine or gearbox work, and whether the car remains as it left the factory. The Carrera GT and 918 Spyder are considered case by case, with provenance and complete history reviewed in full.

Questions

Before you begin.

º1Do you consider left-hand-drive or imported Porsches?

Yes. Use the manual-details route and include the country of registration, the registration or VIN, service history and current location.

º2Do you consider Porsches that have been used on track?

Yes. Track use does not automatically rule a car out; describe its use, preparation, maintenance and current condition honestly.

º3Do you buy manual and PDK cars?

Yes. Gearbox, generation and complete factory specification are considered as part of the individual car.

º4Do you buy all Porsche 911 generations?

We consider selected 911s across the generations, from air-cooled cars through to the current water-cooled GT, RS and Turbo models. Each is reviewed on its own specification, history and condition.

º5Will my Porsche 911 be listed publicly if I sell to you?

MotorSignet buys directly, so your 911 is reviewed personally rather than listed for sale. No public listing unless you ask us to arrange one.

º6Is there any obligation after I submit my car?

No. A submission and personal review do not commit you to accepting an offer.

º7What happens if the car has outstanding finance?

Tell us when you submit the car. If a purchase is agreed, the settlement is handled with the lender as part of completion.

º8Can you consider an imported or overseas-registered car?

Yes, case by case. Imported, left-hand-drive and overseas-registered cars can be considered. Use the manual-details route and include the VIN, registration and current location where available.

º9Will the car be advertised publicly?

No. MotorSignet purchases suitable cars directly and reviews every enquiry personally from first contact.
