The buying brief

Considered on the car's own terms.

MotorSignet considers selected McLarens across the Sports, Super, Longtail and Ultimate Series ranges.

The brief is organised the way McLaren builds its cars. The Sports Series runs from the 570S and touring 570GT to the track-honed 600LT and road-legal 620R; the Super Series covers the 650S, 720S and 750S. Every one is built around a carbon-fibre monocoque.

The Longtail cars, the 600LT and 675LT in coupe and Spider form and the 765LT, carry the lighter, more focused LT treatment. The Ultimate Series P1 and Senna, the hybrid and the track-focused hypercar, are considered privately and case by case, with complete service and ownership history reviewed.

Across the range a specialist looks at documented McLaren or approved-specialist servicing, any Special Operations specification, and the condition of the carbon bodywork and paint. Track use, a non-standard exhaust or protective film do not rule a car out; what matters is that the work is disclosed and the history is complete.

Questions

Before you begin.

º1Does track use or a non-standard exhaust rule a McLaren out?

Not automatically. Provide an honest description of use, modifications, service history and current condition.

º2What McLaren documentation is useful?

Service and warranty records, factory specification, invoices and details of any paint, carbon or mechanical work all help the review.

º3Is there any obligation after I submit my car?

No. A submission and personal review do not commit you to accepting an offer.

º4What happens if the car has outstanding finance?

Tell us when you submit the car. If a purchase is agreed, the settlement is handled with the lender as part of completion.

º5Can you consider an imported or overseas-registered car?

Yes, case by case. Imported, left-hand-drive and overseas-registered cars can be considered. Use the manual-details route and include the VIN, registration and current location where available.

º6Will the car be advertised publicly?

No public listing is required. MotorSignet purchases suitable cars directly and can handle the enquiry privately from first contact.
