The entry
The Ferrari 288 GTO.
The 288 GTO shares its silhouette with the 308 GTB but is substantially reengineered underneath, with a longer wheelbase and a twin-turbocharged V8 mounted longitudinally rather than transversely.
Group B was discontinued before Ferrari's planned racing programme could take place, but the road car's engine went on to form the basis of the F40's.
Cars in this category, Twin-turbo V8 homologation special, tend to draw interest for the engineering story behind them as much as the name on the badge. We review your Ferrari 288 GTO on those terms, its own history and condition, not against a generic pricing model.
If you're selling a Ferrari 288 GTO, send the details and a specialist reviews it personally.
